Mentioning a channel from the 'get Channel Link' information

Hi there,

As part of the flow mentioning users in Cherwell in Teams if they are assigned a ticket, I want to extend that to mentioning a team if the 'OwnedBy' is empty.

I can get the Channel ID from Teams - For example "https://teams.microsoft.com/l/channel/19%3a8a8448688c694625969eec20680f6b29%40thread.skype/Cherwell%...

 

I can pass that over to Teams in the Summary field of the message and then extract that, but the flow fails all the time when I try and use that as an @.  I can see why it fails as it is a URL and not so much a team name, but not sure how to set up a flow to mention an entire channel?

Hi,

 

This should be doable by being cleaver using the split function to only get the part of the URL that you will need. Its still a surprisingly complicated process that I'm not 100% sure on how to do. I would recommend taking a look at the split function which I'll link below; and testing it out with your process. If you are still having issues I would recommend opening up a case with Microsoft Support. I'll also include a link on how to open a case if you would like to go down that route.

This is the flow that works from Cherwell where the technician email is sent over via a messagecard.  It is parsed to the variables and then a mention is fired off.. works a treat.

 

This one though is to cater for certain incidents that when they are new and unassigned it needs to go to a channel (depending on the incident).

 

I can get any of the channel links I need and can embed that as the 'Summary' value in the message card to send over to Teams - just can't get the mention to fire.
