Hello,
I use a Microsoft Form with more than 20 questions and not all questions are required. I want to record every answered question plus answer in the description of an Asana task. I did not manage to get this done. I am able to record every question and every answer, but I only want to see the answered questions with the corresponding answers. Is there a solution to fix this with Power Automate?
Thank you in advance.

Hi @Sanderslug
If you want to add an extra enter between the answers, just simply add an 'Enter' in 'Append to string variable' as below (and please do not modify other steps):

Hi @Sanderslug
Do you mean you don't want those answers which are not answered to be recorded?
If I've misunderstood your need, please feel free to let me know.
You can try to use the function empty() to check whether the answer is empty.
If the return value of empty() is 'false', then it means the answer isn't empty.
If the return value of empty() is 'true', then it means the answer is empty.
Just use the dynamic content for question from 'Get response details':
If you still have the problem, please feel free to let me know.

Hi,
Unfortunately this is not what I mean. Hopefully I can explain it better with an example.
Example: 5 questions in Microsoft Forms.
What is your name?
How old are you?
Where do you live?
What are your hobbies?
If someone fills this out and answers all the questions, I want this output in an Asana task:
What is your name?
Peter
How old are you?
35
Where do you live?
New York
What are your hobbies?
Soccer
But if he fills out only the first two questions, I want the following output in an Asana task:
What is your name?
Peter
How old are you?
35
Could you help me with this?
Hi @Sanderslug
Yes. Of course this is possible. I’ve made a test and have run it successfully.
The following flow is for your reference:
Since user cannot get the plain text of question, so you will need to create an array which contains all these plain text of question.
Also you will need to create another array which contains all these 5 answers.
The detailed steps of creating an array which contains all these 5 answers and initializing a string variable of task description:
The sequence of the dynamic content of ‘Question 1/2/3/4/5/…’ is quite important, please remain the sequence of them as that in Forms.
The ‘Value’ put in ‘Initialize variable 3’ is just an ‘Enter’ on the keyboard.
The expression used in ‘Compose 2’:
split(outputs('Compose'),variables('enter'))
For more info about the functions: split(), outputs(), variables().
The detailed steps of creating an array which contains all these questions and initializing an integer variable of index:
The expression used in ‘Compose 3’:
createArray('What is your name?','How old are you?','Where do you live?','What are your hobbies?','Question5?')
The sequence of these questions in the createArray() is quite important, please remain the sequence of them as that in Forms.
The initialized value of variable ‘index’ is ‘-1’.
For more info about the function:createArray().
The detailed steps for ‘Apply to each’:
The function used above:
empty(items('Apply_to_each'))
outputs('Compose_3')[variables('index')]
For more info about the functions: empty(), items().
[0] is used to get the first item in an array, [1] is used to get the second item in an array, and so on.
So the variables(‘index’) is incremented by 1 each time in ‘Apply to each’, which is first 0, then 1, and so on.
The dynamic content ‘Current item’ is from ‘Apply to each’.
Please input an ‘Enter’ on the keyboard immediately after the ‘Current item’.
The detailed steps for creating the task are:
The expression used above:
trim(variables('task description'))
For more info about the function: trim().
The dynamic content ‘Outputs’ in ‘Description’ is from ‘Compose 4’.
The outputs of my flow when I didn’t input any answer for ‘How old are you?’ and ‘Question5?’ is:

Thank you for your reply. I managed to create the exact same flow and it works. But I have one more preference to make it look a little nicer. I want to have an extra enter between the answers in the description of the Asana task. Like this:
I tried to add an extra enter in the first 'Compose' step, but then I get an error.
Do you know how to resolve this?

Hi,
I have one more question about the assignee of the Asana task. This box is now empty, which means that the Asana task will be assigned to me. But I do not want that the task is assigned to anybody. Is this possible?
Hi,
I have followed the above instructions but am getting the below error message.
do you know how i can fix this?
Estou com o mesmo problema
Diz que o código "Compose" não é valido
Conseguiu arrumar?
Estou com o mesmo problema do Skye Renae
Poderia nos ajudar?
I followed this flow step-by-step, but instead of getting the corresponding answers to each question, the question itself repeats. What am I missing?
