Move one item and its attachments from one list to another list

Hello,

I'm having trouble getting attachments to move from one list to another list. I have an Approval trigger (working fine) and I can get the list item to move, but I cannot get the attachment to also move to the new list. The lists are on the same site.

So this is what I need:

  • Approve or Reject
  • If approved, move list item and attachment to 2nd list
  • Delete the list item and attachment from the 1st list

Thats it! Can anyone help?

Thanks!!

Re: Move one item and its attachments from one list to another list

After a couple of tweaks - SUCCESS!! Thank you!

Here are the edits:

1. At the "Get Attachments" step I had to copy and paste the ID value from the previous step "Get Item" becuase none of the available Identifier options worked.

2. I deleted the final step "Delete Attachment" because it was failing to find the attachment. After checking the document library, there are no duplicate files being created so it appears that the attachment is simply being associated with the second list. All is well.

I greatly appreciate the help - thanks again! Smiley Very Happy

To be more specific, I get a Bad Gateway error at the "Add Attachment" step.

Re: Move one item and its attachments from one list to another list

Hi @RJD2,

Could you please share a full screenshot of the configuration of your flow?

I have made a test on my side and the flow works well.

You could use Get attachments to get the attachment for the initial list item, then use Add attachment to add the attachment to another list item.

Please take a try and let me know if you have any question.
