Multiple lines of text field to see all entries in an flow email

Hello!

I have a field called Comment that is a multiple line text and I have append changes to existing text turn on. I am trying to build a flow where it will send an email to show all the entries under the comment field and also when a new comment is posted against the request.

Thanks,

Jannet

Hi @jannet,

Please notice that there is item ID, not the comments from the item:

If you want to append the comments then declare a variable after the trigger. Then use actions step append to string to append the comments.

Also you asked about the Editor. Editor values are returned as JSON. Again add anther Parse JSON to extract the values.

Thanks

The comment field (which is multiple lines of text type) is in SharePoint list

This is the setting for the Comment field.

Sharepoint Comment field.PNG

On the SharePoint list, it will show all the entries against a request.  I want to set up a flow where it would send out an email shows all those entries/comments.

Hi @jannet,

If you want to get all versions of the comments, you should use the Send HTTP request to SharePoint to get the modified/created item's all versions, then structure a variable to store the comments' properties, such as editor name, edit time, comments details, etc.

Then use the Create HTML table action to create an HTML table so that it could be inserted in the Email body.

These are expression I used in the Flow:

body('Send_an_HTTP_request_to_SharePoint')['d']['results']
item()['Comments']
item()?['Editor']['LookupValue']

I have tried however I am getting an error message.
Error message: Correct to include a valid reference to "Send_an_HTTP_request_to_Sharepoint' for the input parameter(s) of action 'Apply_to_each'.
