It would be really helpful to be able to change the trigger on an existing flow, rather than having to create a new flow. This would help in situations where you want to use a very similar flow as a template for a new flow that uses a different trigger.
For Instance if you have created a flow based on a new item created in a list as the trigger and then you want to create a flow using on an item updated in that same list as the trigger.
Changing the trigger (Under edit View) is possible under Microsoft Flow. This is also available for the other actions added in Flow.
Note that You can't delete an action if you're using any outputs from it anywhere in the flow. First, remove those outputs from the fields, and then you can delete the action.
Check the Recorder or delete an action part.
Thank you for responding. Sorry I should have been more clear about the exact scenario I'm looking to help with (I've amended the original post to reflect this).
What I'm specifically trying to avoid is the re-selection of the fields throughout the remainder of the flow. I would be looking to change the trigger to a different type, but with the same dataset/source and thus the same columns (as in change the trigger from "When an item is created" to "When an item is updated", so that I can use the originally created flow as a template for the "update" flow.
The way to accomplish what's shown in the screenshot is to delete the existing trigger. You'll then be prompted to choose a new trigger, just like you see in the screenshot.
