New Event on Calendar send email condition flow

I use a flow that simply emails me when an event is added to my calendar.  This is due to staff adding events to my calendar and my need to know prior to looking at my calendar.  The flow works great but I am trying now to refine it to be a bit more specific.  I would like it to not notify if I myself added the event (it just feels redundant then).

My current flow looks like "When a new event is created (V2)" -> "Send an email" with defined Dynamic Information in the subject and body.  I have attempted using V1 as well with no luck.

I have attempted to insert a condition of using email address but it doesnt work.  Essentially I want it to check if i created the event and if yes Do Nothing and if no send the email.  What am I missing here?

Thanks for your time!

Re: New Event on Calendar send email condition flow

Hi @DarylF,

Could you please show a bit more about inserting a condition of using email address?

I don’t think “When a new event is created(V2)” trigger could be able to achieve your needs. I make a test with “When a new event is created(V1)” trigger and the flow works well. Please take a try with the following workaround:

  • Add “When a new event is created” trigger. Calendar id set to a specific calendar.
  • Add a Condition, in left input box, click “Add dynamic content” and select “Is Organizer” content of above trigger. In middle dropdown box, we select “is equal to”. In right input box, we type true.4.png

Note: If the message sender is also the organizer, the Is Organizer property will be set to true.

  • In “if/no” branch, we add “Send an email” action.

The flow works successfully as below:
