New Trigger conditions. How to trigger flow only when a specific field is equal to a specific value in Dynamics

Hi all,

I'm trying to use the new trigger conditions on Flow to help save flow runs. I want to setup a trigger on Knowledge Articles on Dynamics and have it only run when status reason is Published. I used the When a record is created or updated trigger and setup a compose step to try and get a expression I can use in the trigger conditions.

I first tried and use the following expression in the trigger condition:

@equals(triggerBody()?['statuscode'],7)

The problem with this condition is that once the article is published. Any changes made towards the published article will trigger the flow. I basically only want to trigger the flow when the KB article is published initially. Is there an expression for that?

Hi @Mick282 ,

You should add the condition in this situation.

Re: New Trigger conditions. How to trigger flow only when a specific field is equal to a specific value in Dynamics

Hi @Mick282 ,

If you don't want the flow to be triggered when the item is modified, you could use the trigger "When a record is created" instead of the trigger "When a record is created or updated" of dynamic 365 connector.

Please letme know if your problem could be solved.

Thanks Alice! (@v-alzhan-msft) . I really appreciate the replies!

Triggering on created won't work as we only want the flow to trigger when the the KB article is published for the first time (or if that's not possible, whenever the status field is changed to published).

I want to write this into the trigger condition so as not to trigger a flow run whenever a article is modified but only when it's published.

Is there anyway using the trigger condition? I know I could probably do something with just a condition step.
