When attempted to enable Pagination and set to 90,000, I get this error.
"The pagination policy of workflow run action 'List_rows_present_in_a_table' of type 'ApiConnection' at line '1' and column '2701' is not valid. The value specified for property 'minimumItemsCount' exceeds the maximum allowed. Actual: '99999'. Maximum: '5000'."
When I try with Top Count as 5000, it works fine.
May I know how to fix this pagination issue to access/update more than 5000 records ?
Not sure whats the maximum limit. A while ago I did tested with 50,000 and it did worked ok for me. You case it is showing 5000 that's strange.
You could set Top count as 5000 and set the Skip count 5000 (after the first retrieval) in each iteration of a do until loop.
1. Declare a integer variable SkipCount
2. Declare a bool variable Record NotFound
3. Do Until RecordNotFound 'true'
4. Get rows from table & process your other logic
5. Check the count
6. If count > 0 then increment the SkipCount to 5000
7. If count = 0 then set RecordNotFound 'true'
Using the above steps you could retrieve all the rows from Excel.
The error is pointing out that you are trying to process your records using data sets that have 90,000 records in each page. The maximum page size is 5,000. Since its paging the data it will still work if you set it to 5,000. It will simply require more iterations. There is no way to use a page size of 90,000. But using pagination you can process a data source containing 90,000 records in pages of 5,000 each.
Even though I set 'Top Count' to 5000 it retrieves only 256 records.
Is there a way to report to Microsoft ? Not sure if this some thing to do with policy amendment which is beyond access level in my Org.
I get that, but you can only load them 5,000 at a time, not 50,000. The max pagination size is 5,000. That's the error you reported. I'm not sure why you would only be getting 256 records, unless that's what matches your filter (if you are using one) in the first 2,000 records (max data row limit if you've expanded it otherwise its only 500. Excel doesn't support delegation, so you have to have some kind of manual approach to getting more than 2,000 records.
Would you mind to share a snapshot of the flow to play around with skip count please in order to process more than 50K records from excel
