I have a simple flow that when a task is created in Planner, it is to post in the General channel of a team that "Username created task TaskName"
The user name will not show up though. I can get the User ID to show up, which is just a string of characters and not a user name. I am selecting the Dynamic Conntent "value Created by User Created by Display Name" but get nothing. That name seems strange to me too - to use the user ID you just get "Value Created by User ID" not "value Created by User Created by User ID" - so maybe the dynamic content is messed up?
The title and due date values work fine.

Hi @EdHans,
The issue is confirmed. When you use “Create a task” action to create a task on my side, you get the “value Created by User Created by Display Name” dynamic content, but it is null.
We have post this issue to Microsoft Flow Teams, if the issue is solved, I will reply to you.
You could use the Get user profile action to get the creator's display name, as below:
The name of the creator can be displayed, as below:
Please take a try.
Best Regards,
Barry

Thanks. I will give this a shot today.
Thanks. I was able to get this to work properly with your help. Hope they get the bug fixed in the Planner dynamic content so it will be a bit easier to use, but at least this works.
Hi,
I tried to follow these instructions but was able to only get a 50% result. Can someone help me further?
This is a notificatio I was able to create:
New task: Testing task;
Due Date: 2019-03-13T10:00:00Z; <- this is "value Due Date Time" but with failed syntax
Created By: User Name; <- this comes correctly from "Get user profile V2" as instructed
Assigned To: xxxxaa25-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-0b2xxxxe6b9f; <- this is value assignments Assigned To User Id
This worked well. Unfortuantely I can't figure out how to tie in a mention.
