Populate a Microsoft Word Template Not Giving Fields

Hello,

I am trying to build a Microsoft Word template. I have used the Plain text control and have uploaded it to our SharePoint site. However when I go to do the flow for it I am not given the fields that are on the template. I have tried other controls too just to see what would happen and none of them show up. Any ideas? Can you try it with a whole new word template file ? Maybe the different controls causes a conflict. I also refer to this blog post which describes the steps well https://www.flowjoe.io/2021/03/10/a-complete-guide-to-creating-and-populating-word-templates-with-po...

Happy to help.

Hi @AaronMcClay1311 ,

There are currently some content controls are not support for the Microsoft Word (Business) connector, please check:

  • Rich Text Content Control
  • Building Block Gallery Content Control
  • Date Picker Content Control
  • Check Box Content Control
  • Legacy form controls

In addition, please consider checking other known limitations:

hey @AaronMcClay1311 ,

plain text control is the correct choice here, have you also set a title and tag for each of your variables ? You can do that via Properties, right next to the Plain text control in the ribbon for each variable.

Yes I have put titles in and everything. I tried every different type of control to just be safe. Still none of them are coming up.

I ended up removing the action and rebuilding the original template. That got it to work now.

Thank you
