I have created a Flow which creates a new channel on Teams once an item is created on a sharepoint list. Every new item on sharepoint gets a "reference number" which is used as the name of the new channel. For example, if the new item gets a reference number "AB1234", the new channel is called "AB1234"
I want now to adjust the Flow so that when any item is modified to post a message to that item's specific channel. I tried to use the reference number field as custom name on the Channel ID dropdown, but this didnt work. When the item is modified, the flow is triggered but it fails to post a message. It seems like it cannot resolve the reference number field as valid channel id.
Has anyone tried something similar or any ideas/suggestions would be much appreciated
For your scenario, do you want to create a channel first when an item is created, then post a message to the item’s specific channel when it is modified?
If yes, please take the following flow configuration for a reference.
The flow is triggered by When an item is created or modified, then add a Condition to check if the item is newly created or modified. If it is a new item, create a channel, if no, post the message to that channel.
Note: I used Title as the name of the channel.
