Powerapp input to populate template word document

Hi,

I am facing the following issue.

I've build a very simple app for employees to make inputs

I want these inputs (multiple lines text) to populate a template and create a new word file from it.

I tried all kind of things (spent 4 days on it) without success. Some people say it is not possible.
But on this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDnd6QWBim8

the guy did it, only there is no step by step and I couldn't replicate it.

also I'm new to both, powerapp and flow.
Would really appreciate the help

This sounds more like a PowerApp question, than a Flow question.

On that note, I am not too sure Rich Text can be exported, but I can assit with plain text.

First you want a flow that trigger is "PowerApps"

Then you want to add the "Respond in PowerApps" action.

Then in powerapps, on your button, have it run your flow. Make sure you define what you want the powerapp to pull. (circled in yellow)

This works for plain text. But it should put you on the right track.

@ML14 ,

Can you show us what you have for a flow so far? I tested this and it worked fine for me.

Pretty sure those semicolons are supposed to be commas.

RTE.Html1Text, RTE2.Html1Text, RTE3.Html1Text

I tried that too.

with semi colon I get the mail, but each of the three gap are filled with the same content (only text 3)

and with coma nothing happens.

Intresting.

Definitely use commas, but it looks like PowerApps is showing you, you have an error with your formula. Can you select the red X and see what’s wrong. PowerApps is pretty glitchy and from time to time, the connector gets messed up. So to make sure it’s looking for the right data, start typing the formula and wait for it to show you what input it is looking for.

(Like pictured below”

1.jpg

You can see mine is asking for text1, text_2, text_3 and text_2_1.

If yours do not match your flow, save, close and reopen your app and check again. If they are still off, I would delete the “Respond to PowerApps” action create a new one. Delete the flow as a data source from PowerApps and add it back again.

You were right, it was just a bug. I did what you said and the formula would appear correctly.

One thing though is that it would still not run (despite that the flow was running if manually triggered) so I changed the formula to the one below adding html and it would run fine. The problem is that it would come out in word as html code, so I added the html to text step and now everything words super!!
Thanks a lot for your help, I'm an intern with no clue on these tech and its really satisfying to make it through (:
