Problem with duplicate rows Using Flow to export SharePoint List to Excel One Drive for Business

I have made a flow that runs every morning at 2 AM to delete rows out of an Excel Online File and imports rows from a SharePoint List. I have a person column titled "Person Responsible" and this column can have multiple people selected in it for a single row. For some reason, when the list gets copied to the excel file it creates two rows when two people are marked in the "Person Responsible" column. One row for the first person, and one row for the second person.

I would like this to just be listed as one row with both people listed in the "Person Responsible" column.

Please help with this duplication issue!

Hi @mattroed ,

Please refer to the screenshot below to configure Flow.

  • Use variables to append all user names together, separated by semicolons.
  • Then use variables to populate the fields in the table.
  • It should be noted that the variables need to be emptied each time.

Hi @mattroed I suspect that you may have a nested loop created by using dynamic data from your list item. Can you please provide a screenshot of your Flow?

Looks like that is the issue. Any work around so I don't have to use the apply to each twice?

Hi @mattroed

Easiest way to do this is:

#1 - Delete the Responsible Person dynamic content from the Add row into table action

#2 - Move this action out of Apply to each 3 by dragging it directly below

#3 - At the top of your Flow, create a variable, of type string, called "Responsible Persons" or whatever you want it to be called

#4 - Within your Apply to each 3 loop, use the Append to String variable to place just the display name of the Responsible Person into the variable

#5 - In the Add row into table action, use the "Responsible Persons" variable

This way, you will still be using the variable to pull out all of the responsible people, but you will only create the row once.
