Qualify "When File Is Created" trigger with "...and is not being edited."

Hi. I'm asking as much for high-level advice as much as technical advice.

In my situation, I want a simple workflow to be triggered after a file is created. I want it to update some properties, e.g. the Title, based on information entered into the Word file (whose properties are linked to the Library where the content type is used) and send an email that needs to include the Title.

The problem is that the files are created from within the library. This means that the user clicks New (to create a document from that content type); but then the Flow (which is triggered "When a New File is Created [Properties Only]") runs before the user is finished typing anything into the file!

How is one expected to approach this? How can I tweak the trigger (or what should I change it to) so that it doesn't run until the user has CLOSED the file they just created? I'm sure there is an "...until..." involved somewhere, but what sort of condition does "...until File is Closed" evaluate to?

Hi @mboonie,

The trigger mechanism of "When a file is created (Properties only)" is correct.

The reason for your issue is that SharePoint online has AutoSave when editing files, so after you create a file, you have not filled in any content , it has been saved automatically, so Flow determines that a new file has been generated.

You could try turning off AutoSave or Configuring AutoSave Settings In Office.
