Just a note on how long it takes. You only need to run Search for users once, then use Filter array for each phone number you are searching for which should be very quick. I'm assuming you're calling Search for users for each record which is why it's likely taking a long time.

Appreciated your guidance  GrantJenkins,

I will make the flow not to do the search for user every time .. for sure that it will be a faster process .

but in your expression , i get below error .. pls help me to correct it .

The execution of template action 'Filter_array' failed: The evaluation of 'query' action 'where' expression '@or(contains(string(coalesce(item()?['BusinessPhones'], '')), outputs('Compose')), contains(coalesce(item()?['TelephoneNumber'], ''), outputs('Compose')), contains(coalesce(item()?['mobilePhone'], ''), outputs('Compose')))' failed: 'The template language function 'contains' expects parameters of matching types: a dictionary and a key (string), an array and a value (object), or a string and a substring. The provided types 'String' and 'Integer' are incompatible. Please see https://aka.ms/logicexpressions#contains for usage details.'.

Expression

@Anonymous(contains(string(coalesce(item()?['BusinessPhones'], '')), outputs('Compose')), contains(coalesce(item()?['TelephoneNumber'], ''), outputs('Compose')), contains(coalesce(item()?['mobilePhone'], ''), outputs('Compose')))

I think the issue is that we're using a Compose to enter our search criteria (phone number). When you enter text, it will be stored at text, but if you enter a number, it will be stored as a number.

It might be better to create a variable called something like searchCriteria of type string and enter what you want to search in there. Then you would just need to change the expression to not use the outputs('Compose'), but instead the variable we just created.

Try the following:

@Anonymous(contains(string(coalesce(item()?['BusinessPhones'], '')), variables('SearchName')), contains(coalesce(item()?['TelephoneNumber'], ''), variables('SearchName')), contains(coalesce(item()?['mobilePhone'], ''), variables('SearchName')))

Hi GrantJenkins ,

changed the flow to read the SP list and get the Subno(Telephone Number) and put it on the  Value of the  Initialize Variable .

But get an error ,saying the initialize variable cannot be inside a loop  as below

Flow save failed with code 'InvalidVariableInitialization' and message 'The variable action 'Initialize_variable' of type 'InitializeVariable' cannot be nested in an action of type 'Apply_to_each'.'.

Pls help me to change the flow ...

Just initialize the value out of the loop. In the loop use "Set value" action.

Hi Victor ,

here is the expression used in Filter Array

@Anonymous(contains(string(coalesce(item()?['BusinessPhones'], '')), variables('SearchName')), contains(coalesce(item()?['TelephoneNumber'], ''), variables('SearchName')), contains(coalesce(item()?['mobilePhone'], ''), variables('SearchName')))

In your Filter array the From needs to come from the Search for users - not the value from Get items.

Are you updating your list within the Apply to each with the results from the current Filter array?

Not sure why it's not returning all the users.

Hi Grantjenkins ,

i haven't used the "update items" action yet to the flow ..  let me add it and see whether the list records are getting updated

Ah sorry - I thought you meant you were updating the list and only getting values from the first result.

The filter array will only return the users that contain the phone number you searched for, so not sure what you mean by only one record from your list?

When you run your flow, you should be able to go into the Apply to each and scroll through the iterations.

Hi Grantjenkins ,

Let me explain you what exactly i am trying to do here .

I have a List having phone numeber and some values attached to the  phone number and the email ID of the user who owns the number(its empty )  .. Currently its having 3 records with different phone numbers .

what i need to do , get the email ID of the each phone number and update the emailID field in the list with the respective record .

With your help , now i' managed to do the flow , but it get the out put of the first mobile number in the list  in the filter array  output .

If i'm not mistaken i should see all the  3 records in the Filter array output ..right ?  since the Filter Array inside a apply each loop .
