Return list based on expiry date

Good afternoon,

Ive built a flow that runs on a schedule and should return an email list based on expiry dates.
So far, the flow returns all values within the table and doesn’t filter for dates either expired or expiring in the next 30 days…

Steps in the flow:

Recurrence

List rows present in a table

Filter array

create HTML table

Send an email

How do I get the flow to filter only dates that have either passed or due to expire in the next 30 days and only return those values in an email?

Many thanks.

Hi @MilesG

You Can Apply Filter on the list.

addDays(utcNow(),-30)

Hi @Amit_Sharma, thanks for taking the time to respond, unfortunately though I receive an error if I run the flow using the Greater than or equal to operator, if I use equals then apply a filter array after I still get all the items returned in the table.

Hi @MilesG

could you Please show me error and show me flow where you are doing compression.

Hi @MilesG

The greater than or equal to Currently not supported by List row present in table Action it only support ne,eq,contain

so, you can use Filter Array Action for achieve goal.

addDays(utcNow(),-30)

Best Regards,

Hi @Amit_Sharma

I must be doing something wrong as I still do not receive the correct data. The output still does not filter the dates that are more than 30 days away.

In your condition for the Filter array, you'll need to format the date from Excel and the data you added days to.

formatDateTime(item()?['YOUR_EXCEL_DATE_FIELD'], 'yyyy-MM-dd')

formatDateTime(addDays(utcNow(), -30), 'yyyy-MM-dd')

Hi @MilesG

Please Select Date Time Format Field ISO 8601 in List rows present in a table Action then it's work perfectly.

Thanks for your time, but I’m clearly doing something wrong…

I’ve rebuilt the flow with your recommendations yet still I don’t get the required result.

Thanks for taking the time with this.

My intention would be that the flow returns lines 1,2 and 5 as they are either expiring in the next 30 days or have already past

Miles

Hi @MilesG

You are doing mistake in Filter array Action you are using less than equal to instead of this you have to use greater than equal to.

Amit_Sharma_0-1671825247165.png

Hi,

If I use greater than or equal to the flow returns all the rows, so 1,2,3 and 4

my filter array is:

formatdatetime(item()?[‘Date’], ‘yyyy-MM-dd’) greater than or equal to formatdatetime(adddays(utcnow(), -30), ‘yyyy-MM-dd’)

im trying to filter the dates which have either passed or due in 30 days.

Hi @MilesG

The output is correct as your requirement please verify again

1,2,3,4 lines date which will be due in last 30 days from today or date is passed, 5 is old from last 30 days

Hi,

So if a date has either passed or is due to expire in the next 30 days I want to receive a notification. If it’s more than 30 days in the future, I do not.

Thanks, Miles

Hi @MilesG

Sorry for the misunderstanding so for this you can use less than equal to and use 30 instead of -30.

Don't use + symbol use only 30.

@MilesG

formatDateTime(addDays(utcNow(),30),'yyyy-MM-dd')
