Save attachment to One Drive and OVERWRITE an existing file.

Hi,

Just wanting some help to get a flow to overwrite a file in OneDrive.

I've successfully got it saving the attachment automatically from an incoming email straight to OneDrive but I cant get it to overwrite the existing file.

If it can be done can you tell me how?

Or if it cant be done using OneDrive can it be done elsewhere?

PS - I then have the file picked up by Power Bi.

Thanks 🙂

Re: Save attachment to One Drive and OVERWRITE an existing file.

Hi @MindyandTeddy,

Could you please share a screenshot of your flow’s configuration?

Do you want to overwrite the file with same file name or different file name?

Further, how many files has existed in your OneDrive folder?

If you want to overwrite the file with same file name, please take a try with the following workaround:4.JPG

Note: If there is an existing file with same file name, the existing file will be overwritten with new file via the flow automatically.

The flow works successfully as below:5.JPG

If you want to overwrite the existing file with different file name and there is only one file existed in your OneDrive folder, please take a try with the following workaround:6.JPG

The flow works successfully as below:7.JPG

Best regards,

Kris

Re: Save attachment to One Drive and OVERWRITE an existing file.

Your explanations are excellent.

I have a slightly different situation:  i have a flow when multiple users working on the same file (multiple laptops) and than they save it on their One Drive for Business account.  I need flow to copy file to a Shared folder, but I need to set a validation to check time stamp and only overwrite file if the modification time is greater than the file that already in the folder.

Do you think its possible to achieve it with Flow?

Appreciate your response.
