Select Action only reading first version

Hi All,

I am creating a flow for when an item is assigned to a user, it will send an email. I have the flow complete, but I can't get my select step to read 2 versions, even though the Get step is showing both. Thus, the condition always reads as true, because select is showing the same version twice.

Does any one have any advice on getting Select to read 2 different versions and output that data for conditions?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi @PNW_Builder

Let me know if this works:

You can use:

'Get changes for an item or file' action right after your trigger. Pass in the ID. and use this expression for the Since field:

sub(int(triggerOutputs()?['body/{VersionNumber}']),1)

Now in your condition, you will have dynamic content for each field that can be changed.

Use the expression true on the right side of condition

Now in the True block put your email action.

In the False block, put your terminate.

Hello @PNW_Builder

Can you share a screenshot of your full flow?

is the select action being used inside a loop?

Here is my full flow. I don't think its a loop, but I am not very good with these flows yet.

Hi @PNW_Builder

Just so I understand,

Your condition is checking the first version, and the last version. And if its the same do nothing but if versions are different than you want to send an email?

What information are you sending in your email? This will help me figure out a solution for you.

Correct. Its a custom email to the team member the item is assigned to explaining what has been assigned to them.

The overall goal is to send the email only when the assigned to column is changed, not every time the item is edited. So, the select step should be pulling the version number and assigned to display name of the last 2 versions. That way the condition can check if the assigned to field has changed, and send the email as needed.
