Send Email with Options - register response of only who receives the email

Hi all,

When somebody gets email with options, is it possible only to register response of the people who originally received the email?

For example, if person A forwards the email with options to person B before registering response, person B can easily select one the option from forwarded email and it get registered in SharePoint list.

Is there anyway to prevent this? So, only person A's response will be counted.

Thank you

Dhiren

Re: Send Email with Options - register response of only who receives the email

This is not functionality built into the Office 365/Outlook connectors, this would be something more in line with an email marketing service like Mailchimp. If this is functionality you would like to see added to Flow or a Flow Template, please consider submitting it to the Flow Ideas page, where it can be voted on by other users, and tracked and commented on by the Flow team.

You could possibly do a very complex Flow that checks if the reply matches the sent list of the email, but it would take some lengthy logic to do so. You'd have to capture the Sent Email ID, then pull in the To List from the Sent Email ID, then do a comparison of the Form respondents against the sent list, and filter out only those users. To make this easier, you may want to utilize SharePoint lists to capture the data on send, and on receiving the responses, and then filtering the responses.

Long story short, this could possibly be done using the built-in connectors, but the time investment may not be worth the cost associated with utilizing a 3rd party connector like Mailchimp.

Re: Send Email with Options - register response of only who receives the email

Hi @dhirenk ,

Unfortunately, the Send an email with options action does not support such a feature currently.

It does not capture the information of the user who clicked the response option, it only obtains which option the user clicked.

You can learn from the final output of this action that it will only get the selected option.

If you want this action to get both the selected option and the corresponding user information, please consider submitting your suggestions in the ideas forum:

Re: Send Email with Options - register response of only who receives the email

Hi,

I agree with this request. Surely for there to be proof that a given user clicked that button the flow must be able to update the list version history showing that the email recipient was the one who did it.

There are so many applications that require this proof. Registers that people sign when collecting waybills, or agreeing that they received any number or things.

This would created an audit trail of proof needed when people say they never received such and such or were never told about such and such.

Surely this must be available? Please advise.

Regards,

Dan
