Hi all,
The short question: How do i send an approval per email after i do a 'create approval' action? (Not the 'start and wait.....' action!)?
I tried to find an answer to my question for hours now, but could not find any.
My goal is to create an approval and have this send to a Teams channel, but also in an email at the same time.
The card that's sent to Teams will have different 'receivers' than the one being sent in the mail.
My obstacle is when i create an approval and send the adaptive card to Teams, i do not see a way to also send this in an email, as the 'Start and wait for an approval' action would do.
Alas, That action cannot create an adaptive card to send to Teams...
My current Flow:
- Compose message,
- Create approval,
- Send your own adaptive card to a Teams channel as the Flow bot,
- Wait for approval
Any ideas?
Much appreciated!!

Hi @PVosEska ,
I just found out that if Notification function is enabled under advanced options in 'Create an Approval' step, the built-in email template with Approval Card could be sent to Approvers. just as you'd expected. See more: Control the approval email
Please turn on the Enable Notification function and try again.
Hope this help.

Hi @PVosEska ,
Actually, the Team Adaptive Card from 'Create an Approval' action can be added into Email body directly. You just need to switch the Email Body to HTML View, and insert the 'Team Adaptive Card' as follows, then that card can also be sent in Emails.
Such kind of actionable messages are available to all customer mailboxes on Exchange Online in Office 365 or Outlook.com with a supported client. See more:https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/actionable-messages/#outlook-version-requirements-for-actio...
Hope this helps.

Hi @v-siky-msft and thank you for your response.
I tried your option, like you said, as following:
Sadly, the email still just shows the html code
This goes for Online as well as out office365 outlook client.
I have searched for the connectors, but could not find a connector for Flow, but maybe i'm overlooking something.
Directly 'Start and wait for an approval' goes well to both Online and the client.
Outlook client is on version 2002, which should be high enough according to the documentation.
Thanks in advance,

Thank you! that did the trick. No more seperate e-mail sending needed! the e-mail arrives simultaniously with the Teams message.
Thank you so much for your help. Kudos!
