I'd like to use Flow to send an email to a group of users when a News item is added to a Sharepoint Online Team Site. Is this possible? If it is possible, how would I go about doing this (sorry, I'm still quite new to this)?
Thanks for any help you can give!
Could you please share a bit more about the group that you mentioned?
Further, could you please share a bit more about the following condition that you mentioned?
when a News item is added to a Sharepoint Online Team Site.
I suppose that you want to send an email to a group of users when a new item is created in a SharePoint list within your SharePoint Online Team Site and the group that you mentioned is an Office 365 group. is it true?
We could achieve your needs in Microsoft Flow, I have made a test on my side and please take a try with the following workaround:
Note: The default format of Site Address as below:
In addition, the member of the Office 365 group would not receive this email in their own mailbox, they could only receive this email in their group mailbox box.
The flow works successfully as below:
More details about SharePoint connector, please check the following article:
Thanks for your reply, it seems that this is what I want to achieve. The group I mentioned is an Office 365 Group.
The part I'm struggling with is getting Flow to recognise just news pages created using the 'News' webpart of SharePoint online. I think I can set it to send an email when any page is created, but not limit it to just 'News' items. Do you know if this is possible?
Thanks again for your assistance so far.
Thanks for your feedback, the "When a page is created" trigger is not supported in SharePoint connector of Microsoft Flow currently, I afraid that there is no way to achieve your needs in Microsoft Flow currently.
If you would like this feature to be added in Microsoft Flow, please submit an idea to Flow Ideas Forum:
