Send e-mail and create task when date of calibration is due or passed

Hi all

I am trying to create a workflow in which every Monday (or when I run it) I get e-mails and tasks to calibrate some probes from a list in a document library in sharepoint. I have used many useful messages and comments from this community but even though I think I am close, I can't get it to work properly.

The workflow I have is as follows:

WF1.png

Recurrence is once per week.

Get items is from the right place, in the right folder.

First condition is to make sure date is due or is passed from "today", utcnow(), so it is less or equal than condition of the calibration date.

If yes in the condition, I apply another condition to make sure the probe has not been calibrated in the past, and it has a new calibration date. This is done with a choice "Yes" or "No" manually filled. So if it says No, and date is passed, it should send an e-mail. However, what happens is, if I leave the last condition as it is, when I leave the second condition with the choice equals No, nothing happens. But when I change it to "yes", I get e-mails from both probes which really needs calibration (date less or equal to today and No in the choice column) and the ones that have been calibrated (with yes in the choice column).

Not sure if I have explained myself adequately. I can answer some more detailed questions if neccesary to understand my flow better which I think I do not even know as I am quite new on this.

Many thanks in advance.

Re: Send e-mail and create task when date of calibration is due or passed

Hi!

I usually recommend to add a Compose action block before evaluating a condition, and assign it the dynamic content to be evaluated (in your case the choice column). This way, after flow execution you can go to "Run history" and inspect the content of the element that is evaluated in the condition; in order to make sure it matches your expectations

Hope this helps

Re: Send e-mail and create task when date of calibration is due or passed

You are a genius! I did that and realised the choice came as false or true, not taking into account the real values "Yes" or "No". I imagine this is a coding or programing language that as you can see I am not very used to.

Thanks for you input, it solved my problem 🙂
