SendAs with new Office 365 Outlook - Send an email (V2) connector - How?

Dear All,

 

Can you please help how i can send e-mail in the name of a group (SendAs and not send on behalf) with the new Office 365 Outlook connectors?

I can see in this description that it has been removed from V2, but why??

I have tried with the Send an email from a shared mailbox (v2), but it says no permission (which is of course not true).

 

Any ideas are welcomed.

1) It was working fine for you situation, but in general it didn't work for most people.  I'm assuming that was why it was pullsed.

 

2) As I've said, a Group is NOT the same thing as a shared mailbox and never has been. You can ask your email admins to create a shared mailbox for the group, but creating a group doesn't automatically create a chared mailbox.

I suspect it was removed in the V2 version because it caused a lot of confusion and problems.  I've answered a number of questions here on the forum about why it didn't work and it always came down to people not reading the fine print that the person running the Flow required Send As permission to the mailbox being used as From.

 

In terms of the Send an email from a Shared mailbox.  Shared mailboxes are a specific type of mailbox.  If you have a shared mailbox for the group then you should be able to use that action.  But a regular mailbox that a whole group has permissions for is not the same thing.  Assuming the group has permission to do so you can try using the SMTP send an email connector.  For that one you can supply a specific userid and password to be used to authenticate to SMTP.

Unfortunately in my company it is not possible to use SMTP and not sure either how i can use that with any Groups.

Weird there was something which was working fine and i need to replace now with another solution.

It is okay to use the Shared mailbox connector, but it should recognize the Groups as shared mailbox as well.

Removing a perfectly working functionality because users do not read the fine-print?
Maybe the fine-print needs to be more clear.

I have flows being triggered that require mails to be sent from NoReply@MyCompany.com so my user's email-address does not get compromised. NoReply@MyCompany.com is a SharedMailbox (not a group)

I cannot even see the 'from' anymore in the Connector..... I believe that demonstrates the problem is not due to the difference between Group and SharedMailbox
