SharePoint, Child Lookup - update Parent with Child choice (either Single line of text or Yes/No)

Hi, I hope you can help me.

I'm building a Mentor | Mentee solution in SharePoint.

To connect Mentors (Parent) with Mentees (Child) I'm making a Lookup column in the Mentee list. So far so good. But I would also like to know, whether a certain Mentor have been allocated a Mentee by updating or typing a value in a 'Single line of text' column or Yes/No Column.

Is this best achieved through building a Flow, or should I look for something else?

How should I go about building the Flow?

Something like

Get Items on the Mentor lists ( to get the listy of mentors)

Then a Get items on the Mentee list filtering by Mentor lookup field (use filter options in the advanced options)

Then a condition using the length fucntion to get the number of items returned by the second get items.

Hi @Pieter_Veenstra

Thank you for your quick reply.

I'm not that well versed in using Flow, can you point me to some guides or other relevant documentation? Or help me in some other way?

Anyone else, that would be able to help - I need a more hands-on reproach, or links to relevant documentation.
