Hey all
I am trying to create an item in a SharePoint list with some dynamic content.
So when an item is created in a list (customers) with a column (store), i would like to create this item in a subsite which also has a list (ShopCustomers) but depending on the store the item will be created in a diffrent subsite.
I was wondering if this is possible? Because if i add dynamic content to the site url at this moment i can't select a list name which makes it impossible to publish the flow
Thanks in advance!

Hi @AlexanderRutten,
I don't think you can dynamically set the site url.
Thanks

Are you sure, because you can add dynamic content to the site url in flows. Or is it just on the 'todo' list of microsoft maybe?
Hi @AlexanderRutten,
For create item template how does it populate dynamically the column names if we specify the dynamic URL and list name? Based on that assumption I thought it is not possible. I might be wrong here.
Thanks

In theory it should work like i worked it out in the example below. The problem is the dynamic content does not contain a value so it's not really a site url yet so you can't select a list ... maybe microsoft will work this out in the future.
Does anyone have an update on this?
It makes sense that Flow can't determine what the list columns are at design time, but it would be great if we could pass a dynamic URL and list name with static column values to create/update an item.
For context I'm trying to do this on publish for Project Online project sites, and would like to create a number of items in a list using data from enterprise custom fields.
Trying to accomplish the same thing. Any updates?
I am totally supportive to request this capability. From enterprise perspective It should be possible to create the โSchemaโ based on a actual list and then export the list configuration and the flow to other sites, and be able to make the new instance work with minimal configuration changes. (We donโt want to have every user to have to reconfigure each create item or update item Step, do we?)
I want to define the site url and the list name / id in the beginning of the flow and then refer to these variables in subsequent steps.
this seems not possible today as far as I can see
This is not solved
Any workaround for this ?
I am creating a SharePoint list using Plumsail SP connector in MS flow which works fine. I have another flow that will try to create new item in that SharePoint list.
As the list is not created at the time of setting up the MS flow, the create Item action is not populating the list column to be updated.
I am also interested to see where this goes. Any updates?
I suspect that a work around for this issue might be to directly call a SharePoint web service from within Flow and create the list items via the web service.
Here is a link to a blog that discusses how to update an item via a webb service - this should get you pointed in the right direction.
