Sharepoint List > Send email to assigned individuals

At some point, this flow worked,

When a new item is created > grant access - filter by ID, Recipients - Assigned to Email > send email. This has always forced the apply to each option - even with select/join etc. 

I need a few things to happen:

1. I need the new item to be the trigger

2. I need the ASSIGNED individuals to be granted access to the list item

3. I need an email to go out to the ASSIGNED individuals after these steps

Simple enough, but power automate is not agreeing with the "Assigned to" column of this list and I am not finding a work around in the forums that does not result in an "apply to each". 

Help!

Hello @Kbrocchini

is the "Assigned to" a Person/Group field that allows multiple selection?

If yes, Power Automate automatically add the "Apply to each" loop. If you want to avoid it, in SharePoint you have to turn off the "Allow multiple selection" option in the column.

Thank you Marco, unfortunately, we do need it to apply still to multiple selections as it is part of an approval process where often more than 1 person will be assigned to review.

Ok @Kbrocchini ,

so you should first initialize an array variable putting the persons email value got from the trigger, then, when you add the “Start and wait for an approval”, put the variable in the “assigned to” field. In this case the apply to each won’t be automatically generated.

I am hoping that you are meaning something along these lines, the issue that I run into is when "granting access" the "recepients" needs to also pull from the "assigned to email". This step again seems to trigger the apply to each, assuming that is because that column allows for multiple selections? If so, is there a way to change the assigned to emails in to a text format or different type of array?

Hello @Kbrocchini ,

if you're able to put that variable in the "Assigned to" approval field, the apply to each loop won't be added.

Email addresses have to be separated by semicolon

It doesn't appear to provide that as an option, I have also attempted to change the format of the emails using formulas and run into similar issues.
