Simple Sign-Up

Hello, I'm trying to create a simple sign up form for a group at work.  We have a Communications SharePoint site and I'd love to have a button or hotlink that could be pressed in order for a user to signup to be a part of the group.

Once the user hits the button or link I should receive a notification to an email, in my Team, or otherwise which would include some information from the user such as email and maybe location or full name.

Any ideas?  Thanks!

Re: Simple Sign-Up

Hi Alec,

I created a test form and flow to try this and it is possible using a couple of different methods but the easiest I found was to:

1) change your form so it's has one question i.e.  Would you like to receive our comms?

2) create a flow with the trigger 'When a new response is submitted'.

3) add an action 'Get response details'.  Use dynamic content for the 'Response ID',

4) add an action "Send an email'.  Use dynamic content in the body for 'Responders' Email'.

Now when the form is submitted your team will get the custom email but giving you the responders email address from O365 so you should be able to do what you need to do.

Hope that helps.

Re: Simple Sign-Up

You could create a simple form that posts to a SharePoint list.

Then you can use Flow to generate an email with the users details with the dynamic content from the submitter.

Hi @Anonymous,

About your scenario, do you want to get an email notification when a user signup to be a part of the group? Will the info be saved in a list?

If yes, please try to use the SharePoint trigger When an item is created, then use the action Send an email with the details of the creator, such as email address, full name, etc.

Please take a try with it on your side.

Re: Simple Sign-Up

I ended up making a Form and then writing a Flow that sends the Form responses to my Team.

Instead of having the Form I would prefer to have a simple button that when the user presses it submits their "response" to my Team, or a list, etc.  All I need from the user is their name, so I'd rather skip the entire Form and just gather their name using SSO.
