In the SharePoint list that we are using we have a column that is set to append changes to existing text, we are using this to add updates to the list items. I have a flow which is putting all the new updates into an email each week, but I have a problem. If a list item is modified (which is likely to happen) a new version is created, with a blank value (I think this is a known 'thing that it does').
This then causing my flow to output some items with a blank update.
Is there a way to modify my flow so that it checks if the update value is null and if it is then it uses a previous version?
I hope that's clear but let me know if I can clarify further!
Please help! 😭
You may need to use SharePoint REST API using HTTP Post to get previous transactions. Is this only applicable for Update column? How the list updates are created and updated? Is that via PowerAutomate?
Hi @abm, thank you for your quick reply!
It is only applicable for the update column, the updates are being created and updated manually on the sharepoint list.
Thanks for your reply. You need Power Automate action step HTTP Request to execute the below to retrieve the current version and a particular list item record.
