Split multi answer Forms question

Hello all,

I'm looking for some way how to split multi answer question in Forms. It seems like it is not possible to work with this content as array, even it looks like array.

Forms1.PNG

Here is how output looks

Forms2.PNG

It behaves like string so when added to SharePoint list it looks quite strange and I want to format it in way Item1, Item2, Item3, but I am not able to find way how to do it.

Forms3.PNG

Any ideas?

Thank anybody for help.

Hi @vecerpa,

You could take a try to create the flow as below:

Capture.PNG

Please insert the following expression in the Parse JSON action:

{
    "type": "array",
    "items": {
        "type": "string"
    }
}

The flow would run successfully as below:

Best regards,

Alice

Hello!

I'm running into a similar issue where I need to split the output of a multi-choice field but I'm looking to convert it into a regular list - that's then emailed.

Where I'm stuck is just converting the array of strings into a bullet list to then drop into the Email.

I tried using the flow process and was able to get a single item to output but, because of the nested for-each that's auto-created, it sent an email for each string inside that array. Is there a way to have it convert the whole question response from something like this,

[
"Administer process permissions",
"Administer Workspaces",
"Alter trace settings",
"Delete process",
"Edit instance-level information",
"Make requests on behalf of others",
"Manage build resources",
"Manage test controllers",
"View instance-level information",
"View system synchronization information"
]

In to something like this,

  • Administer process permissions
  • Administer Workspaces
  • Alter trace settings
  • Delete process
  • Edit instance-level information
  • Make requests on behalf of others
  • Manage build resources
  • Manage Test Controllers
  • View instance-level information
  • View system synchronization information

without the use of another nested for-each block? I just want to be able to put into an Outlook email the items someone selected in the multichoice question from the MS Form.

Any help or insights would be appreciated!

I can not insert the text into the Pars JSON action.

Have you managed to solve this yet?

I am trying to do the same.

Now it is sending separate emails for each option selected...
