Synchronize Outlook task / Trello card

Hi all

I'd like to synchronize my outlook tasks with trello cards. There is a template which creates a trello card once an outlook task has been added.

I need to be able to retrieve an allready created trello card to update changes made to the outlook task. I believe to master this in saving the Task.ID in the trello card properties in the "create card from task" flow.

My question:

1. Which trello card property to you suggest saving the Task.Id to?

2. How do I retrieve the trello card based on the Task.Id in the "When a task is complete" trigger?

Thanks for your help.

Martin

Re: Synchronize Outlook task / Trello card

Hi @Anonymous,

Could you please share a screenshot of your flow's configuration?

Further, do you want to create two separated flows on your side?

For your first question, you could include (save) the Task id into Card Description field of "Create a card" action. I have made a test on my side, please take a try with the following workaround:11.JPG

The flow works successfully as below:12.JPG

For your second question, I have made a test on my side and please take a try with the following workaround:

  • Add a "When a task is completed" trigger, specify Task.
  • Add a "List the cards in a board" action, specify Board Id.
  • Add a "Filter array" action, From set to output of "List the cards in a board" action. Within Condition box, left input box set to Card Description dynamic content of "List the cards in a board" action, right input box set to Id dynamic content of the trigger. Within middle drop down, choose contains.
  • Add a "Apply to each" action, input parameter set to output of "Filter array" action.
  • Within "Apply to each" action, add a "Update a card" action, specify Board id. Card id field set to Card id dynamic content of "Filter array" action, Name field set to Card Name dynamic content of "Filter array" action. IsClose field set to Yes.

Note: There may be a issue with the "When a task is complete" trigger, I have made a test on my side, the trigger is not fired continuously. I would put this issue to my product team. Please check if you have same issue with me on your side.

Best regards,

Kris
