Syncing files and folders from Sharepoint document library TO OneDrive for Business

Dear all,

please be patient with me as I am new to Microsoft Flow and taking my first steps. 🙂

With the help of this forum thread (https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Flows/Copy-files-from-SharePoint-document-library-to-On...) and @v-yamao-msft , I created a flow that is supposed to be syncing (one direction) files, folders and subfolders from a folder in our document library to a folder in my OneDrive for Business account.

Actually placing a file in Sharepoint works pretty well but how about creating folders, subfolders and subfiles?

I see there is the trigger of "When an item is created or modified" but I am missing the option of pointing to a folder (I can only add a list) and I am not sure if it includes subfolders and files.

Here's a screenshot of the flow with the second action only being inserted for tests:

Would really appreciate some help / hints here where I can follow up and what to do.

Thank you guys in advance!

Hi @mespeter ,

Please try using When a file is created or modified (properties only) as the trigger, and you don't need to set the Folder so that Flow will be triggered regardless of which folder in the Library has a new file.

Dear @v-bacao-msft ,

thank you for your reply!

I implemented the new trigger but unfortunately it does not solve the problem. Syncing files works fine in the main folder. But as soon as I create a folder and then a file in the folder, I get an error "Action 'Get_file_metadata' failed". It states that the file (which is a folder) is not found. Additionally the file which I created in the subfolder is just placed in the mainfolder of OneDrive.

Just to let you know. We would need just a specific folder to sync as the rest of the Sharepoint Document Library is used by other colleagues as well (which also contribute with some documents to the specific folder).

You might ask "Why all this":

We have shared folders on a wordpress site for our members. We use a plugin called 'Share OneDrive' (https://codecanyon.net/item/shareonedrive-onedrive-plugin-for-wordpress/11453104) which only works with OneDrive for Business and not Sharepoint (the developer states that there is a problem with the Sharepoint API).

Do you have any idea how I get the information from folders to trigger the action in the flow?

Would really appreciate some more help here.

Thank you in advance!

And again a screenshot of the flow:

PS: I just realized that the Dynamic Content tag for the file identifier is German. Could that be a problem too? I cannot change it to English.

Any idea @v-bacao-msft @v-yamao-msft ?

Thanks in advance for your help! 🤘

I am interested in this flow but the opposite way. I want a specific folder in my one drive to syn onto a sharepoint site in a specific folder.

I have used this flow but it does not work for what I need. I can not select the folder I wish to automate.
