Syntax for using expand transformation for SQL Get Rows aggregation

I saw this post:

https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Flows/Join-multiple-SQL-Tables/td-p/58819

I have been trying to use the expand transformation in order to get related data in one call.  I need data from 5 tables and would rather not have 5 Get Row steps.

Here is what I tried so far for the Aggregation Transformation field on the SQL Get Rows action:

  • apply=expand(myTable)
  • expand(myTable)
  • aggregate=expand(myTable)

I am referencing:

http://docs.oasis-open.org/odata/odata-data-aggregation-ext/v4.0/cs01/odata-data-aggregation-ext-v4....

Each time I get an error:
'aggregate|filter|group
by' expected at position 0 in 'apply=expand(myTable)'

What is the correct syntax to use the expand transfromation on the Get Rows action in Flow?

Re: Syntax for using expand transformation for SQL Get Rows aggregation

Hi @jonathanO,

The Aggregation Transformation field only support aggregate function, filter function and groupby function on Get rows action in Flow currently. The expand function is not supported in Aggregation Transformation field.

If you would like this feature to be added in Microsoft Flow, please submit an idea to Flow Ideas Forum:

https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Flow-Ideas/idb-p/FlowIdeas

Best regards,

Kris

So if that is true, what did Michael mean in the linked post when he stated:

"You could take a try with the Aggregation transformation under SQL Get Rows action, then expand the query with related tables:

Transformation expand

Follow the article above for the parameters."

Any update here about what Michael had meant in the other post?
