Trigger email by end date in SharePoint list

Hi all,

I am trying to build a flow that sends an email to a shared Outlook 365 mailbox when the end date in a column within a SharePoint list is equal to today's date. I started by creating a Recurrence, then a Get items action from the site and list. I'm running into trouble trying to add the condition to only get the items if it's equal to today's date.  I'm pretty new to Flow so I wanted to check w/ the experts here for help in doing this.

Thanks!

Hi @AbbyG

use expressions

formatdatetime(utcnow(),'yyyyMMdd'
this will give you todays date

and then compare it with (using condition equals)
formatdatetime(dynamiccontentdatefield,'yyyyMMdd')

Re: Trigger email by end date in SharePoint list

@AbbyG

My example below should help.

I use an OData filter in the Get items action so that only those items with an end date of today will be returned.  You can then loop through the items returned and take action as appropriate. Because I use a filter, you won't need a condition.

Please note that I refer to the End date in my query as EndDate - this may/may not work for you.  If you have an issue, run your Flow without the filter and see how the End Date column is referred to in the output - see screen shot below.  Also, note that I use an expression - I copied the expression that I used into the comment.  Also notice the single quotes around the expression in the filter.

Hi @AbbyG ,

If End Date is a field of Date type and does not contain time, you can refer to the following method to configure Flow.
