Update file properties with email address from sender

Hi! Newbie here.

 

I'm trying to create a flow that when an email arrives in a shared mailbox, a file is created in a sharepoint document library and the file properties are updated.

 

I added columns in the library to capture the name of attachments, the date/time received, and the sender (from) email address.

 

So far this is working as desired for most of the properties, except email.

 

I've tried a few things to work through this.

I've created the column as a single line of text, a person, and a hyperlink.

Then I'm using the FROM element to update the property.

 

Hyperlink causes errors so I've deleted that.

If i use person, it works only for internal domain senders.

If i use the text, it populates the email address, but it doesn't become an active link.

 

Is there a way to make it an active link?

You can use an Hyperlink column in SharePoint and its content use the format mailto:emailaddres

Have a look at this sample:

Where email is an Hyperlink column in SharePoint.
