Update item when date has passed 3 days

Hello,

I have a list where I have a date field named "Resolution Date" (Internal name is ResolutionDate).

I want to update the status of items in the list from Resolved to Closed if it's passed 3 days since the Resolution Date.

I've tried doing this in the below flow but can't seem to get past the Get Items step.

your trigger is not right. It wil run your flow every 3 day. What you want is to compare date with Resolve date. If it's been 3 days. Change status.

Let's say Your resolve date is 1st June. Today is 4th June.

Use "get past time". Provide interval of 3 days.

Output of get pas time will be 3 days before today's date.

Compare it with your resolve date using condition.

Here is pic of one my flows. if entry in my SharePoint site is 3 months old. It will be archive. every day at 4 with flow will run. Check if any entry is 3 month old. If there is. Remove it from main list and moves it to archive list.

@zmansuri I think I've sorted it using this expression if that makes sense?

Hi

I have been researching for a flow that provides this exact function that you presented to another user.

I am trying to automate archiving list items from one list library to another Archive list library.  Currently I have a flow that runs when I manually change the status of Archive from NO to YES.  I wanted to automate that using the Created Date and the "Get Past Time" action you used setting it to 11 months.  The solution you presented was perfect, but the screenshot you gave doesn't have anything past the Get Items.  I believe the flow process goes in this order:

DebsM1_0-1659969796161.png

The Apply to each is "value" and inside that there is a Condition where the status of the field I want to change is set to NO.  After that I need to do Update Item and change the status of those records to YES.  After that happens the rest of my flow will run which will Create the Item in the Archive List and then Delete it from the list it was previously located in.  Am I correct with my flow process?  Am I missing anything??

Thank you for your help.

I just wanted to let you know that I figured it out after much trial and error.  I actually used a mix of information that i found online and managed to get it to do the following:  It checks the ReportingDate against the Get Past Time, changes the Status in the Archive column from No to Yes, Copies the item and it's properties to the Archive list, and then Deletes it from the Original list. I have the Get Past Time set to 12 months so that only those items are affected.

Hi DebsM1,

I'm going to be attempting to do something almost exactly the same soon. Would you mind posting a screenshot of your flow please? Sounds like it took you a bit of time and digging to find what you needed across multiple sources so if you can save me the same job it would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Jill

Hi Jill,

Sorry for the delay in responding.  Below are the screenshots of my flow.  sudasaurus from the message thread above was the best one I have come across.  I just had to tweak mine a bit.  Hope the screenshots help.  Just as a background for understanding the flow.  I have a list that contains monthly updates and I need to archive the old ones.  I have a column called Archive and the choice is Yes or No.  I was manually going in and changing them to YES and then running a different flow, but that was still taking a bit of time, so I added that step to the flow so now each month the flow runs and changes any items that are 12 months old to YES in the Archive field, goes and checks for all marked YES, copies them into the Archive List with all of the fields that I choose and then deletes the item from the monthly update list.  The flow images are below.  Hope this helps.
