Updated Cells in a Smartsheet

Hello,

I'm very very new to MS Flows and have what I believe is a simple task, but I'm not sure where to even start. All I want to do is set a completion date when a checkbox is clicked. I know they have the built in last modified column, but I have several checkboxes in a row and want to track the date each is checked. Ideally the flow would be:

     1. Checkbox in a specific column is clicked

     2. The cell next to modified checkbox is populated with today's date

Is this possible? And can someone point me to some solid resources for doing this? I've used their Python SDK, but that seems like overkill for this task.

Re: Updated Cells in a Smartsheet

Hi @sdresche ,

Where is the checkbox that you mentioned and want to run a flow when you click the checkbox? Is it in sharepoint list?

I couldn't find any function in sharepoint list could run a flow when user click the checkbox.

You could consider run a flow to modify the column value by select an item in the sharepoint list, please refer to link below to learn how to start an a flow by selecting an item:

https://flow.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/flow-in-spo-document-libraries/

And you could create a flow as below:

Capture.PNG

The flow is named with "For a selected item"

When you select the item in the sharepoint list, you could choose to run the flow as below:

The flow would run successfully as below:

And the sharepoint list would be updated as below:
