Updating Excel table cell where Column name is dynamic

Hello,

I am attempting to use the 'Excel Business Online' connector, with the 'Update a Row' action. The name of the column is dictated by the value of a variable, which is only established when the flow runs.

For example, when a user is absent, this will be recorded by the flow, and I need to update this value under the Jan-18 date of an excel table similar to the below table, for the key value pair of Name-Jack.

Unfortunately, this means the column names appear as options to push the string value 'absent' to.

Instead I would like to dynamically fill the cell in the correct column, based on the date which is only generated at runtime.

How is this achieved?

NameJan-15Jan-16Jan-17Jan-18Jan-19

John

Jack   absent
Jill
Joe

Hi @Yoggington

This is currently not supported in the excel connector directly. To use the add a row action, you need to manually navigate and select the file and then select from the tables that appear in the drop down and then pass individual items to each column. These values for the file, table or the columns cannot be dynamically passed and cannot be set in run time.

Hope this helps!

Hi, Just wondering if you ever found a solution?

I'm trying to do something similar but my columns are Years (YYYY), I can probably get away with conditional statements within each column. Its not idea but will work.
