Updating SharePoint LIST (including attachment )

I've 2 SP LISTS , source &target

TARGET is kept sync whenever an item changed/modified at SOURCE

Flow is simple with condition to update an item if it exists - it works well

BUT I want to include attachments as well ?

Hello @neeesz ,

yes, you can put it into the 'If yes' branch where you're creating the new item.

You can use the same flow also in the 'If no' branch, but in that situation I'd extend it by 2 more actions:

  1. Get attachments from the existing item
  2. Delete the attachments from the existing item
  3. Then upload the attachments again using the piece of flow above

Hello @neeesz ,

Power Automate has dedicated actions to work with attachments. 'Get attachments' from the source item, for each attachment 'Get attachment content' and then 'Add attachment' to the item in the target list.

Thanks a lot , is it workable to include Get Attachments actions within my workflow  above ?

somewhere  insert in both sides - after  If condition

Thank you @tom_riha and @neeesz . It worked for updating SharePoint list items with attachments.

Can you show your image of the flow or explain more detail which item to choose in each field, pls?

I can't identify which one should I fill in each field. For exp if "file name" field should use "expression" or select 1 from many options from "dynamic content". If select from "dynamic content" which one should I choose between some same name but from different part like: get item/update item...

@StarrieNg  sure , I will post full picture later ~ in 1hr time

note that my FLOW/Solution is now ~ 2 years old but its still working for me , really well

there might be new triggers or changes ......which I'm not aware of

@StarrieNg

This is the full Flow

Create New Item branch  (in full)

neeesz_0-1685003783137.png

if condition is No , i.e. its existing item , then move to update item branch (its long one) as you need to

  1. get all current attachment content
  2. delete all current attachment
  3. get new attachment content from the updated item
  4. add all attachment content to target

I think 3 (apply to each loop) - this might be long but its working for me for 2~ years with no issues
