Updating a SharePoint Lookup Column Value

I have two lists in SharePoint:

  1. Event Calendar
  2. Event Registration

The Event Registration has a Lookup column that is configured to link to the Event Calendar list.

Here is the Flow that I am trying to setup:

  1. A new Event Registration is created
  2. Check the lookup column "Event" to get the Event Calendar ID
  3. Retrieve the Event Calendar list item via the value in step #2
  4. Update a column called "Number of Registrations" in Event Calendar list item.

My problem is that when I add the action to retrieve the lookup value as the ID for the Get Item action, none of the list item columns are available in the dynamic content:

Any suggestions on how to retrieve the Events list item with the ID from the lookup field?

Re: Updating a SharePoint Lookup Column Value

Hi @justintmiller,

So far to update a list based on changes in another list in microsoft flow, you cannot use the lookup column in SharePoint to do this as Flow does not recognized the lookup relationship between the 2 lists. You will have to make sure that ID column are matched between the 2 list items and then use a flow similar with below to achieve this:

You could post this idea in the Flow Ideas forum, so it might be considered for future releases.
