Updating account records from excel without GUID

Hello,

Im trying to create a flow where Account Records are updated once a day from an excel sheet. But my issue is that the excel sheet are generated from a system where we don't have the GUID of the account, we only have the Account number. I could make it work with the GUID when I just did a test file, but it is not working when i am using Account number as identifier. My flow looks like this:

and I get the following error when i run the flow:

Thanks in advance!

BR,

Emma

Hi @CRMPowerapps,

Get account item in the dynamic entity should use the accountid, it's a unique id, you could use Filter array to filter out these items that with the same account number to extract accountid:

Hi @CRMPowerapps,

Ok, so you could initialize several variables to store the values Brand, ProductID and total Amount.

Then get all rows of the Excel table, then use filter array action to find rows that brand equals varBrand, then create a condition to determine the Product ID if it is empty, if it isn't, create second Filter array action to find the rows that product id equals varProductID.

The most important is loop these rows met the two conditions (or one condition), then use apply to each action + increment variable action, to sum up the amount:

Hi @CRMPowerapps,

Initialize the three variables just need once, you can use it over and over again in the next steps, set it values get from dynamic content by using Set variable action.

Hello! thanks a lot for your help. Works perfectly!

can i do something similar if i want to update all accounts containing x value in x field with data from excel?

Emma

Hi @CRMPowerapps,

Yes, it is possible, we could create a two-level loop, loop the dynamic records in an external cycle, loop the Excel rows in an external cycle.

Hello @v-litu-msft  im not really sure what you mean. is it possible to explain in another way?

thanks!

Hi @CRMPowerapps,

Sorry, maybe I misunderstood your second requirement, could you please explain it more?

Cause I find my solution sure is trying to append all rows in the Excel table to corresponding dynamic 365 records.

Hello @v-litu-msft

My first requirement is solved so that great! Bu ti was not so specific with my second requirement. I will need to create another flow as for that. So I have a list of records in excel which looks like this:

CRMPowerapps_1-1599636982385.png

showing what has been ordered the last week from each brand and product. So what I would like to do is on all account where I have filled in the field brand and product id to show the sum amount. For example if we have selected brand1 I would like to show in another field the total amount of all orders of brand1 which in this case will be 299EUR + 900EUR =1199EUR. And if i have selected brand1 and productid 101 i would like to show the amount ordered for each product in another filed, in this case 900 EUR.

So for all accounts where it has been selected the same product/brand the amount showing will be the same.

hope you understand what I mean.

Emma

hello @v-litu-msft  Thank you for your answer.

Do I need to initialize one variable for each brand and for each product id? or is there a way to have i dynamic? we have quite a lot of products so in this case it will be a lots of steps?

And also, would these steps be enough? or do I need to add the steps to get data from dynamics?

Best Regards
