Updating people fields in SharePoint list

Hi there community!

I've built an app which allows people to register for events. Once they click on a button it puts their name in a people field in a SharePoint list.

I want to send them an email with details of the event, timings, Teams meeting etc but want to avoid emailing existing attendees every time someone new signs up so I've added a field which will put the name of the new attendee once the email has been sent but it over-writes what was already there.

Does anyone know how best to achieve this?

Thanks!

@GavSirisena Why don`t you create a list of event atendees in Sharepoint?

I believe it would be easier to manage the participants list.

You could configure to create an entry in your Sharepoint list whenever they click on button. Then you could store details like fullname, email address, etc.

Create a simple flow to trigger when an item is added to the Sharepoint list and send an email to the invitee.

This way you would avoid sending emails to previous invitees.

See an example:
