Use Flow to Send an email to O365 Group

I have a Flow that I'm struggling with.

Basis of the Flow is to recurse a list of URLs and email our O365 Group with any dead links.

If I email the O365 Group directly using the desktop client, the email is received into the Outlook Group mailbox.

If I use the Flow action "Send an email notification (V3)" to the same O365 Group, nothing is received.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/sendmail/#send-an-email-notification-(v3)
I'm using this notification type as it allows me to use the sender of 'microsoft@powerapps.com' rather than my own email address.

I couldn't find anywhere to say that I couldn't use this action to email the the O365 Group.

Here is a view of my flow.

HTTP part is working fine BTW.

Thanks in advance

Hi @mikeparkie

Is the action running succesfully or throwing an error?

Cheers J

@mikeparkie

You need to configure the O365 group to allow external email

Shows as completed, but nothing is received.

@mikeparkieHave you enabled external mail as per previous reply?

Also the Let people outside the org was NOT checked. I've corrected this and re-ran the Flow.

Nothing has been received as of yet, I'll wait a little bit and see if anything comes through.

ok so I've updated the email addresses to include my own email address and the O365 Group. As I wanted to check that the email is going out. And I receive the email, and I can see the O365 email is also in the to line and the address is correct.

However there is nothing in my inbox (I follow the group there) and also there is nothing in the O365 Groups folder.

@mikeparkie

Yeah, I've got the same... what is weird is that I can't find the messages via trace.

The original message was picked up as failed:

Since enabling external mail... the messages just don't appear, they're not being caught as SPAM and looking at the logs they;re just never received... I'll keep digging.

Thanks @Jay-Encodian, certainly odd. Thought it was me to begin with, as I'm still learning Flow.

Hi @mikeparkie ,

I'm not sure if you have done "unsubscribe" before. If you do, you will not be able to receive emails from this action.

https://aka.ms/flow-mail

Please click the link above and re-subscribe Flow email. After that, you can check whether you have received email notification in inbox or Junk Email.

Hey @v-bacao-msft

I've been testing this as well... I haven;t hit unsubscribe.

Anyhow, the emails should be picked up via O365 message trace if they have actually been sent... but they aren't which is really weird.

I also haven't unsubscribed. I did complete the subscribe form, just in case, but that made no difference.

Hi @mikeparkie ,

Have you tried the methods provided by @Jay-Encodian to check Message trace details?

We've tested the exact same things. However I haven't run a message trace (I don't have the access). I'll contact on of our admins and see if they will do a trace for me.

@v-bacao-msft

Just to check; I assume you are able to send emails to O365 group's using this action? I've tried in three separate tenants and it doesn't work in any of them 😟
