Using compose to modify "List Rows In Table"

Hello folks,

I'm using compose to modify an excel date into something I can actually use. I've got as far as getting the date correct, but I don't know how to get the last compose output back into the value from List Rows Present In Table

The <completion time> map in the bottom step should contain the new date I created with the compose blocks. However, if I put the completion time from the List Rows In Table "value", I get the original data.

For completeness, the compose blocks are:

Compose:

4589.0937985782765

Compose 2:

substring(string(outputs('Compose')),0,add(indexof(string(outputs('Compose')),'.'),1))

Compose 3:

formatDateTime(addDays('1900-01-01',add(int(outputs('Compose_2')),-2)),'yyyy-MM-dd')

I'm going nuts here!

Thank you so much in advance.

Mike

Re: Using compose to modify "List Rows In Table"

Hi @MikePearce ,

You could update the column value in the rows and then add a "List rows present in a table" action and the Select.

Re: Using compose to modify "List Rows In Table"

You'll have to utilize multiple steps to accomplish what you are trying to fit into a single Apply to each loop. Basically, after each compose, you'd need to add an additional List rows in table step.

The Excel connector has many Known issues and limitations that are likely to cause issues with multiple compose steps, mainly the file lockout timer of up to six minutes, and the 100 API calls per connection limit.

For these reasons, the Excel connector is not recommended for use if at all possible. I'd strongly recommend that you utilize a SharePoint List for these actions, or to utilize multiple Flows, one for each compose, with delays built into them to insure that you don't face file lockout issues.
