When an item is modified, start approval and update item approval status

Hi all,

I have stuck with the infinite trigger loop, and haven't found a solution how to stop this.

What is the best practice to setup this, to avoid the looping?

Setup I have: User changes column value to completed, this triggers the flow for approval, if approved, this them updates approval status to Yes (Yes/No), but this keeps to re-trigger the flow over and over once approved.

Thanks

The way to handle this is to add a trigger condition to the flow so it only triggers when the column value is "Completed".  Then have the flow change the value to something like "Finished" just before it Updates the approval status.  That way the flow will only trigger when a user changes the column to "Completed"

Hi,

I created another column and setup the rule withing the same Update Item card and that did the trick.

Shame Microsoft have not design this better, as default rule.

Thanks
