copy file sharepoint - keep Content Type and Metadata

Hi all,

i have two Picture Libraries and i want to move all pictures from one to another (OneDrive4B won't help - see my thread on Tech Community Picture Library on Sharepoint Site not shown )

So i am considering using Flow as a workaround. Important -> Content Type and Metadata shall be transfered.

-> Using the "Sharepoint Create File" Action will not pass the managed Metadata in my scenario 😞

-> Using "Sharepoint Copy File" Action is ending in Errors, it is not finding the source file

1) using File Path only

Invalid URI: The Authority/Host could not be parsed. clientRequestId: 9203fa15-34c1-484b-8423-8b8c214f4bd3

2) Specifing absolute path (Site Adress\File Path)

same Problem

Invalid URI: The Authority/Host could not be parsed. clientRequestId: 5ac6529d-0418-4567-95e9-eedddb0a31ce

If Copy File Actions worked, would it transfer Metadata (e.g. Managed Metadata Columns)?

Best regards,

Eric

I have now an workarround for my problem. The Library to migrate to is not an picture library app, but just an ordinary Document Library, which i configured a little bit (content types / versioning etc.). Niw i can use the build in Copy to command.

Best regards,

Hi @EED_Solutions,

"Managed Metadata" columns in SP are not supported yet. But it is on our roadmap. Please vote here:

To copy files from library to library, you can simply use a flow like this:

Mona

Hi Mona,

thx -> But this will not solve my Problem -> I need to migrate to another library and retagging manually is practically impossible ....

The Action "Sharepoint - Copy file" is not working?

Best regards,

Eric

Hi @EED_Solutions,

With Copy file action, the File path need to be specified when you create it, dynamic content won't work in the why you posted.

Mona

is there a solution that would copy all files and metadata from one folder to another that does not require me to modify the individual file first? I would love to do a bulk copy of all files and metadata from one document library to another. I have all of the proper fields but for some reason the metadata is not copying over with the files. Only some random fields will.
