filter array skipping all entries with special characters (like Umlauts ö, ä, ü, ó)

Looking at the flow run, I can see that "filter array" skipped all entries containing special symbols. Special symbols are handled great in the rest of the flow. It's just "filter array" that doesn't parse them properly.
I can think of a workaround (convert all special characters before and after the operation, e.g. ö->ooo and afterwards ooo->ö). But because there is a long list of possible special characters, this is really an ugly hack.
