is it possible to have recurrance flow work on a single list item

Hi, I have a SP list for my staff to set their work status via a PowerApp. I have a flow resetting all staff's work status to 'away' at 6pm nightly. I need a flow to set one member of staff's status (ie one list item) to 'working remotely' at 9am Wed, Thurs, Fri only. I have the status selections in a sp choice column.

I can use a recurrance flow for the trigger but I need a way to isolate one item in the list. I do not want all the other items/staff included in the flow.

I've got as far as this... but I think I must be missing something?! There must be a way to do this. How can I find the id of the list item?

Re: is it possible to have recurrance flow work on a single list item

Hi @Victoria

Thank you for your post.

In order to target just one user you would use an Odata filter on your "Get items" to target the user.

Please consider my example below:

List:Capture-558.png

Here is a Flow that is inline with yours ...Capture-559.png

With out the filter, it returns every item in the list, the output is below:Capture-560.png

I then add the filter below, in line with my naming convention.Capture-561.png

This returns just the AssignedUser (Assigned_x0020_User) that matches "User 8".

If you apply the same logic to your process, you can target the one user.

Where I have used:

Assigned_x0020_User eq 'User8'

You will use something like:

StaffMember eq 'Rachel'

perhaps ...

So I hope this helps you on you way and starts you off witha filter on a list.

If you have found my post helpful, please mark thumbs up.

Any other questions, just ask.

Thanks, Alan

Re: is it possible to have recurrance flow work on a single list item

Hi Alan,

Many thanks for your help. It's good to know about the filter. I have had a partial success.
Although my flow now says it is successful and I am the getting confirmation email, the Staff Status column value hasn't actually changed in my list. It's still set to 'Away' rather than 'Working Remotely'.

The next stage of my flow is an 'apply to each' as I read you could use this for a single item? And then 'update item'.

Have I missed something?

Kind regards, Vicki
