issue with flow for sending emails from SP list

hi , im looking a little help to put me in the right direction

so I have a SP list which gets updated by powerapps , that all works fine

I then want an email to get sent , but only for items which have the "send email" column to be true and the " email sent" column to be false , as shown below.

daniels471_0-1601024943885.png

where im struggling is the "apply to each" section which im not sure what output I should be using from the previous step to go through all of the relevant list items ( without this it just seems to do one item )

the error I get is as follow

"ExpressionEvaluationFailed. The execution of template action 'Apply_to_each' failed: the result of the evaluation of 'foreach' expression '@triggerBody()' is of type 'Object'. The result must be a valid array."

I understand this is saying I need to provide it  with an array, but I'm not sure how to get this from the SP list , searching online seems to lead me in circles with nothing really seeming to help .

I'm sure to someone who knows this will be really simple

any help is much appreciated

Please use the value in your apply to each as below:

I dont appear to have that , the closest I have is "Value-Key-Item-Output"

I did try that but still give the same error

@daniels471

I do not understand why you have an apply to each , i thought your trigger is Get Items but i can see it when an item is created or Modified is that correct?

yes you are correct

as stated initially ,it seemed like the flow would only run once "sending one email " if multiple items were modified in quick succession .

maybe my understanding here is wrong

@daniels471

I suggest you need to remove the apply to each as you do not need it.

@Mira_Ghaly

Some insight may help you here.

What kind of dynamic content you are selecting inside condition which have values true and false? If you are using any dynamic content of collection type it will apply loop.

Thanks

@Hardesh15

The dynamics content is not from a collection , so what i am suggesting to @daniels471 to remove the Apply to each action.

im unsure exactly what you mean , but this is a SharePoint list which has columns of data which i wish to send via an email (which works fine) .

I want it to look at the list and send the email for all items where the "send email" column is true and the "email sent" column is false.

currently through some limited testing it seems like if 2 records are updated one after the other then only 1 email is sent

@daniels471

Do you want to send email to all line items which have "send email" column is true and the "email sent" column is false? ==> For this you need scheduled flow which runs on specific time and then get items based on column value.

OR

do you want to send email only when line item is modified with "send email" column is true and the "email sent" column is false.

==> For this steps-

1. Trigger- when a list item is created or modified.

2. Condition block

3. In Yes block --> Send email action.

i want to know what you are passing here-

@Hardesh15

i wold say its more like the first option I am looking for  from the ones you mentioned

@daniels471

This is for second option

Try this- Send Email & Email Sent are column type Yes/No

@daniels471

Scheduled Flow-

Hardesh15_0-1601033963387.pngHardesh15_1-1601034007527.png

In Get items- i set top count as 5000 and for that you need to go get items setting (Click on three dots ... and then settings) and enable pagination and set value 5000. By default it takes only 100 items.

You can set trigger frequency as i set it daily and interval as 1 which means my flow will run daily only once.

Thanks

Hardesh

@Hardesh15

brilliant , that works , I now receive multiple emails for the different items as expected

on a side note , the date (from the SP list) no longer seems to come through on the email ,not sure if its related or just a coincidence

@daniels471

if you want to put date from SharePoint column then date will always come in UTC format. you need to convert in your time zone. For this you can use convert time zone action or expression. And later you can use formatDateTime expression for date formats. What kind of date format you want. let me know.
