seems simple - but i dont know how to start - Request for business trip approval process

Welcome,

my case is quite simple but i have a trouble to start my Flow.

Request for business trip approval process

i would like to:

  • collect simple input data from an user
    • when, where user wants to go
    • purpose
    • transport(dropdown)
  • then to collect this data
  • create a file and sent it for approval to the manager

i have a trouble with collecting data and saving it into a file.

any advice?

thank you

No Problem!

Create the SharePoint list first, and then add it as a datasource in the powerapp.  From there you can use the Form input to easily achieve what you want.  Then set the flow to watch the sharepoint list and trigger an approval!  Just make sure users have write permission to the sharepoint list.

Good luck! 🙂

How are you collecting the data?

I would do this with a form or sharepoint list/powerapp that then triggers the flow.

If sharepoint, you could do it as follows:

New Automated Flow

When an item is created trigger (Sharepoint)

point the trigger at the sharepoint list

then use the send an email action to send it to the relevant person.

Quick example:

Edit:

Just saw you wanted approval, so instead of the email action, use the "Start an approval" action instead.   It will send an email with an "Approve" and "Deny" button in it that the manager can click to approve or deny the action.

Thanks for feedback

i think i go with PowerApp as i need some frontend.

thx !

Hello @Anonymous

You could create a Forms form, like this:

Form.pngAnd then process its responses with a flow like the following:

Collect.pngWhere the file is stored in OneDrive.

Hope it  helps!
