send email to case owner

hi there, 

 

I am trying to create a very simple flow to send an email to the case owner when a dynamics 365 case is created,  I have used the Office 365 Outlook connection where I need to specify who is the recipient of the email - but I cannot see 'owner' in the dynamic content list to choose from ? any ideas?

Hey @Martyna0210 

 

To get the details of the owner when the case is created, what you can do is, first get the case record details and then add a get record action and point it to the users entity. For the item identifier in this action, type and select Owner from the dynamic selector (basically the guid of the user record) and now, you can access the name of the owner, primary email to access the email address and other such details.

Yep, @yashag2255 beat me to it (the guy is a machine 🙂 ) - but since I built it, I'll throw in a pretty pic and we'll call mine an 'assist'.  Instead of a "Compose" at the end, you'll have your "Send email" thing.
